I’m Paulina Lara, I’m from Mexico and my grade Fine Arts and my Master’s degree is in Modern and Contemporary Art, focus on history and art critic.
When and why you started to be interested in photography?
Basically as a teenager, in my last year of high school. I was looking different programs and disciplines to choose which to choose in the fields of arts, because I actually tried almost everything, from theatre to ceramics, but I finally found a pinhole camera course where I fell in love with photography and choose ir as my career and kind of my way of life. I studied the Bachelor in Photography for a year but I was not satisfied entirely, so I got an scholarship to study Fine Arts. During college I was focused on the multidisciplinary possibilities through photography and other media, both personal and academic projects.
What do you expect of this year and who do you want the most to have class with?
I want to grow as an artist and help my self to find my personal style through the critics and knowledge of the tutors, photographers, partners and in general from this whole experience. I think the fact of moving to other city, look at the way the artists produce here and what its exhibit give us a chance to get involve in other art circles and to show our work, and improve it.
What do you expect of the rest of the students?
I expect everyone give the best effort, that the other people look at our work with respect and also with a critic point of view so we can learn from the other eyes.
