“Yesterday I heard someone say in a bar that there is no point to feminism any more. I think there are still many things that need to change, and that it is, unfortunately, a slow process.
The history of the women of today cannot be told in one go.
A fanzine for all, about us”
Girls from Today is a fanzine produced by Andrea Savall, a student of the Master of Professional Photography at the IED Madrid. A project which will be on display at the International Fair of Contemporary Art (ARCO).
The idea of the fanzine is to defend feminism and tell the world about the girls of today, highlighting the idea that feminism means equality and attempting to end the myth that feminists are unhappy women who aspire to resemble women.
For the publication of the first issue, several girls of different nationalities were asked what it means to them to be a girl in 2017. Would you like to find out the answers? Girls from Today, can be found at the ARCO Fair and at several bookshops (Arrebato, Panta Rhei and Graphic Book) and on the website Fanzinant.
Girls from Today does not end here. There will be more editions on different issues linked to feminism. Follow Andrea Savall and her fanzines via her instagram (@todaygirlsfrom).
